Big Walk Guide
Big Walk Collectibles and Puzzle Rewards
Big Walk collectibles are rounded, protruding objects awarded by some cooperative puzzles and used to advance exploration. They do not yet have a published official name, so labels such as “nubbins” and “gourds” should be treated as media nicknames rather than game terminology.
What are the collectibles in Big Walk?
They are unnamed puzzle-reward objects connected to progression. Some appear inside glass containers and arrive with a burst of confetti after a group completes the required cooperative task.
What Are Big Walk's Puzzle Rewards?
Some puzzles award a small, rounded object with protruding parts. Reliable hands-on accounts describe these rewards appearing in glass containers, with confetti marking a successful solution.
At least some of the objects cannot be collected by one player acting alone. One documented puzzle requires a player to keep a remote button pressed while another member of the group retrieves the reward from its opened container.
Are They Officially Called Nubbins?
No published official source currently calls the puzzle rewards “nubbins.” PC Gamer and the Portland Mercury each explained that their own players began using that word because the objects lacked a clear name.
Another preview group called the same kind of object a “gourd” while also acknowledging that it did not know the real term. Both labels are useful conversational shorthand, but neither should be presented as an official collectible name.
How Puzzle Rewards Affect Progression
The rewards are more than optional scenery. Collecting them helps groups advance and reach deeper parts of the island, connecting puzzle completion with continued exploration.
This makes them progression items as well as objects that players gather. It does not establish a complete collectible checklist, however, because House House has not published their overall total or a full breakdown of every use.
Map Room Unlock Requirement
Spoiler warning: the next paragraph reveals how the map room is opened. Skip to the following section if your group wants to discover this progression step unaided.
Five puzzle rewards can be placed on the roof of the red tower. Completing that step opens the map room near the starting area, where players gain access to a large floor map, a portable folding map, and a compass.
What Is Still Unknown
House House has not published an official name, a total number, a complete location list, or details of a collection tracker for these rewards. There is also no reliable basis here for connecting them to a particular achievement or trophy.
For now, the useful distinction is simple: their existence, puzzle origin, and role in progression are established, while exhaustive counts and locations are not. A trustworthy guide should not turn informal media labels into an invented official collectible system.
Big Walk Collectibles FAQ
Are nubbins real collectibles? The objects are real puzzle rewards, but “nubbins” is an informal media nickname rather than their published official name.
Do puzzle rewards affect progress? Yes. Reliable play reports connect collecting them with reaching deeper parts of the island, and five of them are used in the map-room unlock.
Is there a complete collectible list? House House has not published an official total, full location guide, or tracker details, so this page does not claim to provide a complete list.
