Big Walk Player Count: Online Group Sizes Explained

Official minimum and maximum

The confirmed player range begins at two and ends at 12. Big Walk is an online cooperative game and does not have a true single-player mode.

Three world-size choices

When creating a world, the host selects a 2-player, 3-player, or 4+ setting. Some world content changes based on that selection.

House House has not detailed every difference between the three versions of the world.

How group size affects the feel

Smaller groups are described as more focused on concentrated cooperative puzzle solving. Groups close to the 12-player maximum produce a more chaotic and social experience.

Neither approach is officially ranked above the other. The FAQ says there is no single best player count.

Choose for the regular group

Select the world that matches the friends who will participate consistently. Do not base the choice only on people who might join occasionally.

Big Walk is intended as a long-form adventure with the same group across sessions. House House has not said whether the world-size selection can be changed later.

Two, three, four, and 12-player groups

Two players use the dedicated 2-player world, while a trio uses the 3-player world. Four players enter the 4+ category, which also covers every supported group through the maximum of 12.

A full 12-player group is supported online but does not receive a separately named world setting.
